Alan Kolod represents several major international financial institutions. He has over thirty years experience in business law matters, including particularly reorganization, insolvency law and litigation as well as substantial expertise in the law governing fiduciary duties of directors of insolvent corporations. Alan has actively participated in such major bankruptcy cases as Eastern Airlines, Continental Airlines, Orion Pictures, Lomas Financial, Envirodyne, Telemundo Group, Lonestar Cement, Jamesway and McCrory Corporation. He has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in litigation arising from failed leveraged buyouts, including litigations brought in connection with the Healthco International and Envirodyne Industries bankruptcy cases.
Alan regularly represents banks, debtors, corporate directors, creditors' committees, and indenture trustees in exchange offers, workouts, restructurings and bankruptcies, claims trading, debtor in possession financings, acquisitions in bankruptcy, and insolvency-related litigation, including defense and prosecution of fraudulent transfer, LBO, preference and lender liability claims.
Alan has also served as an independent director on the Boards of Telemundo Group, Inc. and Daticon Inc., and, as such, was active in the successful sales of both companies.
Alan is Chairman of Moses & Singer's Management Committee.
