T: (212) 554-7832 F: (917) 206-4332 Devika Kewalramani is a partner and co-chair of Moses & Singer's Legal Ethics & Law Firm Practice which advises law firms, lawyers and legal departments on ethical, legal and business aspects of law practice. She focuses her practice on a variety of legal ethics, professional responsibility and risk management matters, including, conflicts of interest, disqualification, and screening procedures; letter of engagement rules; lateral attorney arrangements; client confidentiality; duties of supervisory and subordinate lawyers; professional liability and loss prevention; attorney advertising and solicitation rules; and ethical issues involving metadata, email and inadvertent disclosure.
Ms. Kewalramani is a member of the Professional Discipline Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers. She is past chair of the Engagement Letters Subcommittee of the Professional Responsibility Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is a frequent speaker on legal ethics at the Practising Law Institute, the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, the New York County Lawyers’ Association, the National Business Institute, law firms and other professional organizations. Ms. Kewalramani is a faculty member of Lawline.com.
Previously, Ms. Kewalramani was general counsel to Moses & Singer. Prior to that she was an associate in Moses & Singer's Banking and Finance practice where she focused on secured and unsecured financings representing major financial institutions.
Ms. Kewalramani grew up in Kolkata, India and is fluent in Hindi and Bengali.
