John V. Baranello is a third-year associate in the firm’s Litigation practice group. John is a litigator and trial attorney representing clients in lawsuits relating to entertainment and complex commercial matters, as well as disputes involving employment and trusts and estates issues. He represents both individual and corporate clients in a variety of industries, including entertainment, sports, home goods, linen services, fashion, construction and equipment leasing. John's practice also involves the laws governing non-competition agreements and other restrictive covenants. He assists clients involved in white collar criminal cases, in addition to matters relating to matrimonial, child custody and relocation disputes. John litigates on clients' behalf in both New York and New Jersey state and federal courts.
Prior to joining the firm, John was a member of the Rutgers Community Law I/P Clinic, where, among other things, he assisted a well-known singer protect the use of her name, and advised a now popular clothing company on various trademark and right of publicity issues. John also worked at Deutsche Bank AG in their Litigation and Regulatory Group and was Assistant to the Chief Deputy Clerk of the Richmond County Supreme Court.
Outside the office, John currently plays to a 3.8 USGA handicap on the golf course, and has bowled many 300 games in bowling leagues, tournaments and recreationally on Staten Island.
